Ingredients
- 5 Slices Bacon (or more to taste)
- 1 Onion
- 2 Stick Celery
- 1 bottle beer
- Bread, cubed enough to fill the frying pan. Should have an open texture like sour dough.
- Cheddar cheese
- Chicken broth
- Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 Egg
Method
- Fry the bacon in a pan with a little oil until well done.
- Chop the onion and celery and fry in the bacon fat. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Once the onion and celery are soft and have some colour pour in the beer and bring to the boil.
- Add the bread and then immediately cover with grated cheese.
- Stir and then add bacon bits.
- Add chicken broth and flavour with Worcestershire sauce.
- Add an egg and stir.
- Cover with cheese again and add more bacon.
- Stir carefully
- Place in an oven proof dish, cover with foil and bake at 180 for 45 minutes.
- Garnish with chives.
